Exporting
Choose the output aspect, resolution, frame rate, codec, and save location for your finished Drishti Studio video.
Open the export sheet
When the recording looks right in the preview, choose Export. Set the output options in the export sheet, then choose Export again to pick a name and destination in the macOS save dialog.
Your chosen destination
The exported file is saved in the folder you choose in the macOS save dialog. Drishti does not upload the file.
Choose output settings
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | Original, 16:9, or 9:16. |
| Resolution | Original source size, Full HD, QHD, or 4K. 9:16 exports at 1080×1920. |
| Frame rate | 30 fps or 60 fps. Export cannot exceed the recording frame rate. |
| Codec | H.264, HEVC, or ProRes 422. |
- H.264Export Video > Codec
- Use for broadly compatible video files and everyday sharing.
- HEVCExport Video > Codec
- Use when you want a smaller file and your destination supports HEVC.
- ProRes 422Export Video > Codec
- Use when you need a high-quality editing file and can accept a larger export.
Export vertical video
Choose 9:16 for a vertical video. Drishti converts the recording to a portrait canvas with the screen in the top 60 percent and the camera in the lower 40 percent, ready for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts.
- 1
Choose 9:16
Set the aspect ratio to 9:16 before exporting.
- 2
Review the stacked framing
Check the preview to make sure the screen content is readable and the camera is framed well in its lower section.
- 3
Export the portrait version
Choose Export, select a filename and destination, then wait for the render to complete.
Plan for long recordings
Drishti is built to export long recordings quickly, including recordings that run 20 to 30 minutes or longer. Export time still depends on the recording length, resolution, frame rate, codec, and your Mac, so keep the app open until the progress view finishes.
- Use 4K and 60 fps when the source and destination need the detail and motion clarity.
- Use a smaller resolution or 30 fps when file size and upload time matter more than maximum detail.
- Choose the destination folder carefully so the completed file is where you expect it to be.
