Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Drishti Studio is designed with privacy at its core. Your recordings, projects, and files stay entirely on your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data or content on our servers.

This website is different: it uses Google Analytics (only after you accept cookies in the EEA and the UK) and cookie-free Vercel Analytics. See This Website below.

Information the App Does NOT Collect

• Screen recordings and project files never leave your device
• Browsing or usage activity within the app
• Personal files, documents, or any on-screen content
• Analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking data

Information That May Be Exchanged

Software Updates

Drishti Studio uses Sparkle to check for app updates. When checking for updates, the following non-personal information is sent to our update server:

• Current app version
• macOS version
• System architecture (e.g., Apple Silicon or Intel)

This information is used solely to serve the correct update. We do not log, store, or track this data. You can disable automatic update checks in the app preferences.

Payment and Licensing

When you purchase a license, payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not directly collect or store your payment information (credit card numbers, bank details, etc.). Our payment provider handles this data under their own privacy policy. We receive only:

• Your email address (to deliver your license key)
• Transaction confirmation (to validate your purchase)

Support Communications

If you contact us at [email protected], we receive your email address and any information you choose to include. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry.

Data Storage

All app data, including recordings, projects, settings, and preferences, is stored locally on your Mac. We have no access to it.

Your license key is stored locally in your system's Keychain.

Third-Party Services

• Payment Provider: Processes purchases. See their privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
• Sparkle Update Framework: Open-source update checker. No data is collected beyond what is described above.

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. For the website, see This Website.

This Website

Everything above is about the Mac app. This website, drishtistudio.app, works differently: it uses analytics so we can see which pages people find useful.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count page views and a few clicks, such as the download and pricing buttons and opened FAQ questions. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and receives your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you visit. We do not use it for advertising: Google signals and ad personalization are turned off.

• In the EEA and the UK: Google Analytics loads only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, it never loads. If we cannot tell where you are, we treat you as being in the EEA.
• Everywhere else: Google Analytics loads automatically, right after the page finishes loading, unless you choose Decline in Cookie settings.

Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Vercel Web Analytics

Our host, Vercel, counts page views without cookies. It recognizes a visit by a temporary hash of the request, discards that after 24 hours, does not track you across websites, and reports only aggregated numbers to us. See Vercel's analytics privacy notes.

Hosting and Delivery

Vercel and Cloudflare serve this website. Like any web server, they process your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

Your Cookie Choice

Your Accept or Decline choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, so the banner does not come back on every page. To change it at any time, click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Choosing Decline stops Google Analytics straight away and deletes its cookies for this site. You can also block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app collects no personal data from anyone, and the website collects only the analytics data described in This Website.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is typically no personal data for us to provide, modify, or delete. If you have purchased a license, you may contact us to request deletion of your email address from our records. For website analytics, you can decline or change your cookie choice as described in Your Cookie Choice.
