Introduction
Drishti Studio is a native macOS screen recorder that zooms, pans, and follows your cursor automatically, so recordings look edited without any post-production.
Most screen recorders hand you a flat capture and leave the editing to you. Drishti watches what you do while you record: where you click, where your cursor travels, which window you are working in. When you open the editor, the zooms, pans, and framing are already in place. You adjust what you disagree with instead of building everything from scratch.
It is a native Swift app built for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Recording, editing, and export all happen on your machine. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing needs an internet connection after you install.
What Drishti does
- Auto Zoom: detects your clicks and zooms into the right area at the right moment, with no manual keyframing.
- Smart pan: follows cursor movement with cinematic easing instead of a hard cut.
- Camera overlay: a customizable webcam bubble with shapes, background removal, blur, borders, and external camera support.
- AI captions: transcribes speech and adds karaoke-styled subtitles in eight languages.
- Cursor effects: spotlight, highlight, resize, and click animations.
- Backgrounds: wallpapers, gradients, custom images, and frosted or defocused blur behind the recording.
- Trim and cut: mark in and out points, ripple-delete segments, and dissolve between clips.
- Export: H.264, HEVC, and ProRes 422 up to 4K at 60fps, plus one-click 9:16 for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts.
Who it is for
Developers, designers, educators, product managers, and content creators who record tutorials, product demos, walkthroughs, and marketing videos on a Mac and want a polished result without spending an afternoon in a video editor.
It holds up well on long recordings. Native rendering and Metal GPU export mean a 45-minute tutorial does not crawl on the timeline or take an hour to write out, which is where Electron-based tools tend to struggle.
