Editor basics
Use the preview, timeline, and inspector to review a recording, make focused edits, and prepare it for export.
Find your way around
| Area | What it is for |

| Preview | Watch the recording, click to play or pause, and check the result of your edits. |
| Timeline | Move through time, select tracks and keyframes, trim the ends, cut sections, and adjust their timing. |
| Inspector | Change the settings for the selected item and use tabs for settings such as Camera, Auto Zoom, audio, captions, cursor, and background. |
Click in the time ruler or drag the playhead to scrub. Use the playback controls under the preview to play and pause while you review a section.
Work with the timeline
The timeline separates the visual and audio parts of a recording into tracks. You can show or hide tracks from the Tracks menu when you need a clearer view.
- Auto Zoom holds the generated zoom and pan keyframes.
- Camera Cue holds time-based camera changes when a camera feed was recorded.
- Audio shows the recorded audio waveform when the recording has audio.
- Captions, Cursor, and Keystrokes hold their own time-based overlays when those tracks have content.
Use the plus and minus controls, the zoom slider, or a trackpad pinch to change the timeline scale. The zoom stays anchored around the point you are viewing so you can inspect a precise moment without losing your place.
Trim and cut

Trim the ends
Drag the trim handles to remove setup time at the start or unused time at the end of the recording.

Mark the section to remove
Enter cut mode and place the two marks around the portion you do not want to keep.

Ripple delete the selection
Confirm the cut to remove that section and close the gap in the timeline.

Use a dissolve when needed
Add a dissolve between clips when you need the change between kept sections to be less abrupt.
Edit in passes
First remove mistakes and dead time. Then review framing, camera cues, captions, and audio. This keeps each pass easy to judge.
Adjust audio and undo changes
The Audio track has its own waveform. Select it to use the inspector controls to mute the recording audio or adjust its volume. Use Undo and Redo as you work. They apply to supported editor changes, including timeline edits.
