Getting started
Install Drishti Studio, grant the permissions macOS requires, and finish your first recording in a few minutes.
Install the app

Download the DMG file
The download is a signed and notarized .dmg, under 30 MB. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Drag Drishti Studio to Applications
Open the .dmg and drag the app icon onto the Applications shortcut in the same window. Copy it across rather than running it from the mounted disk image, which can make permission prompts repeat.

Open the app
Launch Drishti Studio from Applications or Spotlight.
Grant permissions
macOS gates screen capture, audio, and camera access behind system permissions. Drishti asks for them on first launch and walks you through each one. You grant them once.
- Screen RecordingSystem Settings > Privacy & Security
- Required. Without it Drishti cannot capture your display or any window. This is the only permission the app cannot work without.
- MicrophoneSystem Settings > Privacy & Security
- Optional. Needed to narrate over a recording and to generate captions from your voice.
- CameraSystem Settings > Privacy & Security
- Optional. Needed for the webcam bubble, including external cameras connected over USB or HDMI capture.
- Input MonitoringSystem Settings > Privacy & Security
- Optional. Lets Drishti read keyboard events so keystroke-driven features work during a recording.
macOS may not apply a permission until you relaunch
If you grant Screen Recording while Drishti is already running, the app can still see the old denied state. Click Refresh in the permission screen, and quit and reopen Drishti if the warning stays.
Record for the first time

Choose what to capture
Pick a display, a single window, or an area of the screen. Window capture follows the window if you move it, and defaults to a 16:9 QHD frame so the result is not an awkward shape.

Set up audio and camera
Choose a microphone, decide whether to include system audio, and turn the camera bubble on if you want to be on screen. You can change every camera setting later in the editor.

Start recording
A countdown gives you a moment to get ready. Window recordings activate the target window during the countdown so any animation settles before capture begins.

Stop and let the editor open
Stop from the menu bar, and Drishti opens the recording in the editor with Auto Zoom already applied to your clicks.

Review, adjust, export
Play it back, fix any zoom you disagree with, then export. Nothing is uploaded at any point.
Slow down slightly on your first take
Auto Zoom keys off your clicks and cursor movement. Deliberate movements and a short pause after each click give it clean signals to work with, and the result needs less correction afterwards.
Trial and activation
Drishti runs as a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked. Trial exports carry a watermark; nothing else is restricted. When you buy a license you receive a key by email, which you enter once to remove the watermark.
