How to cancel your Screen Studio subscription, and what to do first

You can cancel Screen Studio from its Manage subscription link, which opens Lemon Squeezy, the store that bills for it. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the term you already paid for, and Screen Studio’s terms say fees are non-refundable. After that the app still opens, but video export stops. How to cancel, step by step

1. Go to screen.studio and open Manage subscription. It sits in the Account links on the site, for example on the download page. It opens Lemon Squeezy’s My Orders page.
2. Enter the email address you bought Screen Studio with. Lemon Squeezy emails you a magic link; click it to sign in. There is no password.
3. Open your Screen Studio subscription and choose to cancel it. Lemon Squeezy’s customer portal is where subscriptions are cancelled or resumed, and where your billing history lives.
4. Keep the confirmation. Your plan stays active until the end of the term you paid for, then it does not renew.
5. If you cannot find the subscription, email team@screen.studio, the address Screen Studio gives for subscription questions.

If you bought the old one-time license

You have nothing to cancel. Screen Studio stopped selling one-time licenses to new buyers in October 2025, and its pricing FAQ says existing licenses are still valid. If your included updates have lapsed, the FAQ says you can renew them at any time. AlternativeTo reported at the time that existing owners get updates through September 25, 2027, and can keep using their version after that.

Your last-day checklist

• Export every finished video you might need again, at the highest quality you will want. Screen Studio exports MP4 and GIF.
• Export the projects you are still working on, even rough cuts, while your plan can still export them.
• Download copies of videos you shared by link. Screen Studio does not say what happens to share links after a plan ends.
• Copy out any transcripts or caption text you rely on.
• Write down your renewal date. Fees are non-refundable, so cancel before it, not after.

Paying less without leaving

If you like Screen Studio and only the bill hurts, check these first. Monthly is $29, which is $348 over a year; the Yearly plan is $108. Students and educators get 40% off, applied automatically with an education email address. Every feature is included on both plans.

Use the weeks you already paid for

Cancelling does not cut you off today. Your plan runs to the end of its term, which gives you a window to try a replacement side by side while Screen Studio still exports. Drishti Studio is free to download and use with every recording and editing feature and no time limit, so the test costs nothing. You only pay if you decide to export from it.

1. Record the same short demo you would normally make in Screen Studio.
2. Open it in the editor. Auto Zoom generates zooms from your clicks and typing the first time, and every zoom stays editable.
3. Add karaoke captions in any of 9 languages, try a camera layout (Bubble, Presenter, or Split), and switch to 9:16 for a vertical version.
4. Compare the two previews. Keep whichever result you prefer, and cancel or keep Screen Studio with that answer in hand.

What the next three years cost

What you give up by leaving

Be honest with yourself about these before you cancel. If any of them is the reason you use Screen Studio, staying may be the right call.

• Share links with comments. Drishti has no account and no cloud library, so you share the exported file yourself.
• Editing by transcript, filler-word and pause removal, and noise reduction.
• iPhone and iPad recording, face tracking, AI voiceover and music.
• Your existing projects. Drishti does not open Screen Studio project files, which is why the checklist above says to export first.
• Older Macs. Drishti needs macOS 15 or later; Screen Studio recommends macOS 13.1 or later.

What you get with Drishti
