Auto Zoom

Auto Zoom turns the clicks, cursor movement, and activity in your recording into editable zoom and pan keyframes.

How Auto Zoom works

Auto Zoom analyzes what you did while recording, including clicks, cursor travel, and periods of activity. It uses those signals to focus the viewer on the part of the screen you were working with.

Instead of asking you to place and time every move, Drishti generates editable zoom and pan keyframes on the Auto Zoom track. They are already present when the editor opens, so your job is to review the result and correct exceptions.

The result is editable

Generated keyframes are starting points, not a locked effect. You can adjust their timing, zoom level, center position, easing, and duration, or delete one you do not want.

Review generated zooms

    Open the Auto Zoom track

    In the timeline, show the Auto Zoom track if it is hidden. Its keyframes mark where framing changes occur.

    Play through each task

    Watch the moments where you clicked, opened a menu, changed screens, or moved to a different part of the interface.

    Select a keyframe that needs work

    Click its marker in the Auto Zoom track. The inspector opens controls for that keyframe.

    Check the move in the preview

    Scrub before and after the keyframe to make sure the important target remains visible for long enough.

Correct a zoom that lands wrong

TimeEditor > Inspector > Auto Zoom
Move the keyframe earlier or later when the focus change begins at the wrong moment.
ZoomEditor > Inspector > Auto Zoom
Reduce the zoom when surrounding context matters, or increase it when a control is too small to read.
Center PositionEditor > Inspector > Auto Zoom
Reposition the focus when Auto Zoom followed the cursor rather than the control you want to show.
Easing and DurationEditor > Inspector > Auto Zoom
Change the movement feel and how long the framing transition takes.

To remove an unwanted move, select its keyframe and use Delete in the inspector. Keep the surrounding keyframes, then play the transition again to confirm that the framing returns to a useful view.

Record for better results

  • Move the cursor deliberately to the control you are about to use.
  • Pause briefly after important clicks so the viewer has time to see the result.
  • Avoid rapid, unrelated cursor movement while you explain something. It can make the intended focus less clear.
  • Keep the app and window state stable before you begin a task, then review the generated move after a major screen change.

Smart pan between tasks

When your work moves from one part of the screen to another, Smart Pan carries the framing between those areas with easing rather than an instant jump. It holds on the current task long enough to read it, then transitions toward the next focus point.

Judge the transition, not only the keyframe

A keyframe can look correct on its own while the movement into it feels too fast or points past the target. Always play a few seconds on either side before exporting.
